ABOUT US

Farnham Town Running Club is a fast-growing, UK Athletics affiliated, inclusive, friendly running club based right in the heart of Farnham town centre for adult runners of all abilities.

The club offers help and support to those who are just starting out with ‘Couch To 5K’ courses, assistance in training and improvement for those who are regular runners or wish to run further and faster, and also a challenging environment for experienced runners to keep them at the top of their game.

Within weeks of our launch in September 2020, the club attracted dozens of members, providing up to eight different runs of varying length and pace on our regular Wednesday night sessions.

Above all, we aim to keep running fun!

In 2020 we kicked off our social running events with ‘Hallowscream!’ and our Christmas Club Run. There is also a planned program of events for members (for when we aren’t in trainers and hi-vis) such as quiz nights, joint socials with Farnham Town Football Club whose facilities we share, an Annual Night of Celebration, quarterly club dinners, and Summer BBQ/picnic.

Of course, there are plenty of running-related events including Sunday Social runs, time trial sessions, hill, and speed improvement training.

We also attend several local running events such as Fleet Half Marathon, Yateley 10K Series, Endure 24, Pilgrim’s half and full marathon, Wellesley 10K, Woodland Woggle, and more…

As active participants in our community, the club will be involved with the Farnham Carnival and helping to keep our town green by organising ‘Plogging’ events, which for the uninitiated is a term coined in Sweden that means combining jogging and the tidying of litter! (Who knew?).

We welcome newcomers to join us on Wednesday evenings at 18.45 from our base at Farnham Town Football Club. During the summer months, we hold monthly ‘away’ runs, meeting at different locations local to Farnham making the most of the longer evenings and stunning scenery on our doorstep.

If you let us know you are coming beforehand, a committee member will help you find the right group and welcome you.

Whatever group you run with we will never, leave anyone behind on the trail. It is our promise to all runners in the club to ensure we finish all runs together.

There’s no commitment to join upfront, so do come and see why people are choosing FTRC.

We only ask that if you do wish to join you complete the membership application after you have run with us for two sessions – We’re fairly confident you will!
